Multiple Public Safety Alerts - Street Robberies

The Downtown Neighborhood Association makes every effort to alert members of crime occurring within the residential area of downtown Savannah. All information is received directly from Downtown Precinct Commander, Capt. Ben Herron.

We do share information from Capt. Herron in the Historic District's community as well as on the DNA Facebook page.

At approx. 09:00PM, the police responded to Lincoln and Taylor on a report of an armed robbery. The victims reported walking past the suspects and suddenly one of them ran towards them with a weapon in hand demanding there belongs. The victims complied with their demands and the suspects fled the area.

Suspect: 3- B/M , one heavy set about 5’7” wearing a white tank top, dark pants, short twist or braids black bandana over lower face armed with silver firearm, other two dark clothing, taller at about 5’9-5’10


At approx. 9:15PM, the police responded to the 100 Block of W. Park Ave. on a report of an armed robbery that had occurred at Whitaker and Huntington. The victims reported walking down Whitaker when the suspect suddenly appeared ,grabbing one of the victims, and demanding their belongings. That victim was able to get away. The suspect hit one of the other victims with his weapon and fled the scene after he was able to get some of the victim's belongings.

SUSPECT: B/M, 5-08, 230-250 pounds, short hair, blue bandana covering nose and mouth, large black handgun

Detectives are investigating these incidents.


At approx. 0220AM, the police responded to Whitaker and State streets on a report of a robbery. The victim reported being pulled into a van or SUV and had his wallet and cellphone taken. He could not provide a lot of detail due to his level of intoxication.

This incident is still under investigation.

Suspect(s) Two unknown Black Males.


At approx. 04:40, the police responded to Drayton and Gordon on a report of a robbery. The victim reported walking home on Drayton when she felt a tug at her purse. When she attempted to resist the attacked she was pushed to the ground. The suspect then fled the area.

This incident is still under investigation.

Suspect: B/M black shirt, jeans, short hair. Look to be in his thirties. 5’10” in height.
