President's Message - November 6th

From the President:

Just a few reminders of upcoming events this week:

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 7, is election day for City Council positions. If you have yet to vote for Mayor or Alderman, this is your last opportunity to do so. Polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Next Monday, November 13, The Chatham Educational Alliance invites you to attend a special screening of the award-winning film The Right to Read and Q&A with special guest Kareem Weaver. Click the link below to get your free ticket to this showing and to learn more about this event and its implementation in our county schools.

On Thursday, November 16, Mark McDonald, will be giving a lecture and book signing at an event co-sponsored by the DNA and the Massie Heritage Center. Mark retired in the fall of 2023 after 15 years as president and CEO of the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation and a 37-year career in historic preservation. Previously Mark served as the President and CEO of Historic Savannah Foundation from 1998-2008 and was recognized by the American Institute of Architects with a Citation of Excellence for his 10 years of service in Savannah. Mark will be discussing a recently released book titled, Architecture of the Last Colony. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing after the lecture. This event begins at 6:30 with a social period and the lecture begins at 7 pm. This should be an interesting event.
